Tuesday Throwdown and awaiting a delivery!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 10:13 2 comments

Well I am sat at home today awaiting a very important delivery, as many of you know my daughter is getting married next year, and recently I have lost a lot of weight, well to keep it off I bit the bullet 6 weeks ago and ordered a dress from China, all to my size specifications, so I have to stay this size LOL! It's due for delivery today and I am so excited.

Any how that is life, onto the card I have made to help the time go. Whilst browsing the net this morning I found http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.co.uk/ and they wanted cards with doodling, well mine has a little doodling as I doodled the sentiment piece, text, holly and stitching.

I have used yet another SWALK stamp and coloured in again with spectrum noirs.

I have to go now as I have workshop projects to work on, I have cheated and ordered the groceries in this week as I did not want to miss my special delivery, so they will be delivered this afternoon too, then I have soups to make, tonight and tomorrows evening meal to prepare and then this evening I hope to get some interval training in. PHEW what a day.

Bye for now xx

Stamp with fun and home earlier than expected!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 17:30 2 comments

Well hubby decided to come home earlier than expected and so as I had already dismissed myself from the shop today, I made use of my time with doing some work at home for future workshops etc.

Now sometimes whilst looking for a mojo boost I look at challenge blogs for inspiration, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, we'll today I found http://stampwithfun.blogspot.co.uk/. Today they have a sketch challenge so decided to join in.

I have used a Crafters Companion SWALK stamp available from their stockists ;-), coloured with spectrum noir pens and used papers and embellishments from my stash.

I hope you like the card.

shh! I had time to play xx

I know the picture is not the greatest and to be honest I am not entirely happy with the card, but WHOO HOO!!
I had time to play.

Yesterday was Artsstamps Wrexham Show, it was a fabulous day! Even though the traffic getting up here was absolutely B****Y horrendous!
7 1/2 hours to get here, instead of 4 1/2, (mind you we are lucky we are still around, we narrowly avoided a pile up with a another car, lorry and car transporter, unfortunately the car ( a couple in front of us did not. He now has a nice v shaped dent from the centre of his bonnet upto his windscreen. Luckily all escaped injury).

We arrived in Wrexham very achy and sore!
Finished helping set up the show then travelled across to gorgeous Llangollen one of the most beautiful places I have been to.

Show over and today we chill/ mull it over and discuss any changes needed.

This card is for a Demo coming up in October (more details will follow, as soon as I have them).
Now I know Speccies (Spectrum Noir Pens are on the agenda) as it is for Crafters Companion, so I coloured one of their SWALK images in with my Speccies and used some lovely die cuts, some our Spellbinders, some sizzix and some Xcut, LOL! OOH and a papermania embossing folder.
(MMMM!!!! thought card making was to save money - How wrong can we be, TEE HEE!).

Any how! home tomorrow and hopefully more playtime xxx

Good morning world it's a brand new day!!!

We have been basking in the most beautiful sunshine this week, it has been lovely. I hope you have all managed to enjoy it, as it looks like the end is insight if the weather forecasters are to be believed. Well last night I ended up going to my running club after all, did have the wobbles about running for the first time in such heat, will it be too hot? Will I cope? Blah de blah blah, you know how you try and talk yourself out of something. Was a good girl went, and then discovered it was the clubs trial time 5km race. Oh my god! I don't consider my self a fast runner at the best of times and in this heat! Off we went and I set my new nifty garmin forerunner 110. Off I went! Well nice run down a longish hill, enjoying this. Realisation quickly dawns nice long hill down normally means nice long hills back up! This course did not let me down, lol. Why do these hills not look so big when travelling by car? Nearly finished and I thought omg I need a wee (sorry, too much information) but it totally threw me and ended up concentrating so hard and not wetting myself, lol, that I did end up walking one of the last hills. But I did it in 33 minutes and 59 seconds, phew, it was hot though. So another couple of first out the way. Heat and timed. Today starts in a more sedate way as I am travelling to Wrexham today for the artstamps exhibition. 4 hours or more in the car, hopefully not to hot and busy one the roads. Workshops are all organised and I just need to be the admin. hopefully whilst there I will find my crafting mojo, that at present has gone on holiday, to where, I know not. I hope it sends me a postcard soon so I can demand it comes home. Chat soon have a great day everyone. Tracy

Work, life and Oscar!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 20:59 0 comments
Well here we are it is now Wednesday evening, I have been to work, which was a normal day the rep that was due in today phoned to say his car had broken down, so we had time we were not expecting to have, so we ordered new goodies in from somewhere else. I had to leave work a little early today as wanted to get Oscar checked over, we have to just keep doing what we have been doing and lay off the treats this week and he should soon bounce back. Which was a huge relief, then it was home I managed to get 45 minutes of interval running done tonight on the treadmill. Enjoyed a nice healthy evening meal and then took my little man out for a nice gentle walk. I have a very busy day tomorrow as I have 12 ladies in my workshop tomorrow and then I am out with the running club tomorrow night. That's all for now. Speak soon Tracy xx

Tuesday day off!

Posted by tracy watkiss at 08:04 1 comments
Well it is Tuesday morning and I am sat In my front room nice and early as I was rudely awoken from my slumber by my puppy Oscar being poorly, so that's what type of day it's going to be hey? Well maintaining seems to be going well on the old ww, went last night and managed to remain at my target weight ! My friend Elaine has joined me on this journey as well as my running one. It's really nice to have someone to share all the highs and lows with, someone who is actually doing the same. Supposed to be going interval training tonight but hubby wants to change the plans - when he gets up we will talk and see, think i may need to compromise this week as he does not ask for much. Only have shopping to do this morning so off to write my list and plan my menus for the week. Tonight i hope to get a few rows of knitting done I am knitting a lovely Aran cardy for myself and then hope to read a few pages of my new download on my kindle - the lates offering from Karin Slaughter. Oh and I am writing this on my new iPad, my treat to myself for getting to goal weight LOL! Speak soon

Its been a while!

I have no excuses other that life!!

I would say it gets in the way but to be honest thats a lie!! Sometimes we need to focus on different areas of our lives.

Whilst the shop has been ticking along, and I have been crafting for workshops and shows, I have to admit not doing a lot of any other crafting - I will do some soon but for now I am enjoying meeting some new people and getting out in the big outdoors.

A lot of you who now me know that I finally reached my goal weight and target of losing 6 stone and with that I made a very brave step and visited a local running club (Plymouth Musketeers) with  a view to joining.  All I can say is after the 2nd week I am totally hooked. Running outdoors is fun!!

So I have today agreed to do a Wednesday evening time trial run on August 15th which is a 5k run, I know I will finish at the back of the pack - but every body starts somewhere, right?

Then on the 16th September I will be entering my first organised run event - again its a 5km run at Saltram house but for Charity.  If you would like and I would appreciate it so much if you were to you can sponsor me here: http://www.justgiving.com/Tracysrunning

Its for a worthy cause The British Heart Foundation.

Then If I am feeling really Brave ( or stupid) I may enter the Plymouth 10K in November.
