Well If I am not already I soon will be, in Creative Cardmaking Issue 39.

I had a Phonecall on Friday 6th January, the conversation went something like.
Tracy alongside your advert could you do a project for the magazine.
Yes Says I.
Right says they, we need to box / bag/ favour boxes, with templates, written instructions, hints tips and on a wedding/spring/easter theme.
Cool says they, we need it all by the 20th January.
Gulp says I, not to bad if the fact of the matter was, we are just back from Christmas break, we are about to start knocking a hole in he shop through to next door to allow for the new workshop, and I have workshops to prep, DT work to do.

LOL!  I don't think the word NO is in my vocabulary some days, hey ho, hubby says I work better under pressure.

Any who, this is what I cam up with,

I think it fits the bill, well I hope it does.

Project one - the hexagonal box

Side View

Bit of Both

Then the Triangle box

Now I purposefully (is that a word!) kept this simple with technique, as I felt they did not need too much.

Anyway I have Scheduled this post for the future! So by the time you read this hopefully they would have been out in the magazine, if not you got a sneaky peek early oops!!

Well it is Tuesday morning, and I am sitting here slightly perplexed a little bemused, cunfuddled, but Very Very Happy.

Why Well two things,

For those of you that have chanced upon my blog or posts before you will know I am 1/2lb queen, most weeks, I live comfortably with the fact that I will lose 1/2lb, regardless of excercise, swapping things, upping pp, lowing pp, it a 1/2lb.

So went along to meeting and whoa!!! 1.5lbs off. I was that gobsmacked I had to go lay down for half an hour to get over the shock!!! Yeaaasss!

Now I normally Stay for meetings to help my leader weigh in peeps, but this week I had to make a hasty retreat so could not have that nice warm glow, of being a good wwatcher for the meeting, as now here is the second thing ........

Back on the awful awful 15th January, I had to have my beautiful old boy Barney put to sleep, Devastated was me, Still am to a point.

Now I had my sensible head on - we will get another just not yet, We have a lot on this year, we will have a holiday abroad for the first time in years this year, I am not ready, you know the story if you are a lover of animals.

So this Sunday was my day off, I Have struggled with days off since that fateful day, hated them. So went to see my mum in the morning, and got a bit maudlin, and she commented I had lost my twinkle and was lost in side.

Went home feeling so sad, walked in the door and hubby said, do you want to look online for any possibles in the not too distant future, the home is just not a home right now.

Now we were only looking, it was stipulated very clearly by my hubby. So Okay, well this was at 1.30pm, by 3.30pm we were driving home with this little cutie ,

we could not help it He stole my heart, the minute I looked at him.

So In a very happy daze, with my new boy, but I will never ever forget my old boy xxx

WOW - Spring Has Sprung

Posted by tracy watkiss at 23:30 1 comments
The Title gives a clue, that it is my turn to host again for WOW!!

This month as previously mentioned by the DT team we are showcasing the flourescent embossing powders.
Along with Spring/ Easter projects.

Well I love the excuse to do a little bit of home decor at holiday times.
So I have opted to make this cute little wall Hanging.

So what did I use!

Well a small polystyrene ring.
3.5mtrs green ribbon 15mm wide
0.5 mtrs pink organza ribbon
some small pins (you may prefer to use glue if children are around)
WOW! Embossing powders
 Fluorescent Green: WR02R
Fluorescent Pink: WR04R
Fluorescent Orange: WR05R
Fluorescent Yellow: WR03R
Versamark ink pad
Heat gun
WOW! Stamp sets: Fauna & How Does Your Garden Grow.
Stick on gems.
White Cardstock

Start with polystyrene ring and green satin ribbon, pin in the end of the ribbon as shown.

Continue to wrap the ribbon around the ring, overlapping slightly on each turn, to ensure even coverage.
Making sure to leave enough ribbon to make a handle. Pin in ends again.

Stamp and emboss 9 leaves from  the fauna stamp, using the green embossing powder.

Cut them out and place to one side,

Take the floral Stamps of your choice and place them on a large acylic block , stamp and emboss in the other three colours of embossing powder.

Cut them out and start assembling all these pieces onto your wreath,

leaves first.

Carry on till you are happy.

Finally, tie a bow with the organza ribbon and place to hide the ends of the green ribbon.

I hope  you have enjoyed todays project.

Just Tracys Crafts Blog Challenge for February

Posted by tracy watkiss at 08:00 2 comments
OOh here we go its time for our second Challenge over at justtracys for 2012 already, and this month was things that flow,

Well I think I may have used artistic license on my observation of flowing, as I wanted to replicate the ribbon on the top right stamped image, so I hand drew a flowing ribbon on the bottom of my card and coloured it with copics!!!

Now as part of my resolution this year was to use my at home stash more, I used on of my all time favourite stamp sets from Magenta, I have had this set for around 6 years now and still love it as if I have only just bought it.

You cannot see it very clearly here but each layer is on graduating thicknesses of 3d foam pads, so quite a lot of depth to the main image.

till next time
hugs xxxx

Crafters Companion DT Card For February

Posted by tracy watkiss at 06:00 2 comments
And Its anything Goes!!

Well Its the 1st February and this will be the first card of 2 today I hope!

I have been abot AWOL lately over on the Crafters Companion Blog, but have promised myself to try harder this year, to post on a more regular basis.

My card for the challenge this month, came in nice and handy as it was my eldest daughter Joannes' birthday on the 25th January and I managed to make her this cute card.

The Image is from the SWALK range of stamps and I coloured with copics, used my cricut to cut the die cut shapes from elegant edges cart, the butterfly was the ever so popular docrafts one, stamps were docrafts alphas, and the papers were DCWV glittered sweets mat stack!

Another promise to myself to use up some of my at home stash, that I have had years.

There is another gift voucher up for grabs this month
so head on over check out the other DT teams work and try your luck.

The style of card I have done is called the Double dutch, as the front flap lifts up and the bottom two sides pull outwards.
